Because the Bible Said So...

One of the issues why I don’t like this argument is because the Church is quoting the bible. How would you be able to argue with anyone having a bible in his hand saying BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO.
I remember training in the debate team when I was still in high school and one of the things I learned from my coach is that, any argument cannot be backed up with any religious story or the bible because the argument will be weak. If I wanted to give a point I would give my opponent an argument with a scientific explanation or something that has proof rather than something coming from the Bible.
Why? Because, the bible has been accepted by everyone already, and whether what is stated in the bible is true or not, it cannot be backed up with any scientific explanation which is needed in this argument.
Reproductive Health Bill deals with population, life, and choices. How could someone in the right mind tell me to do something because it is in the commandments, I believe that the world is changing so fast and so many things are changing already. The bible will stay like that forever. I am not saying that I am against what is said in the Bible. It’s not that. I am against how the people are using the bible to argue with other people.
Why is the church against the RH bill?
1. The church believes that the RH BILL is an ANTI-LIFE Bill
a. The RH BILL is actually preventing abortion from happening. It is not pro-abortion.
2. The RH Bill will limit the population
a. The population of the Philippines is approximately 91,983,000, and we’re still in poverty. The bill is not limiting the number of people who are going to be born in the country but will give Filipinos a choice on how they should take care or bring about their families.
3. The Church believes that the Reason for the RH bill which is overpopulation is a lie.
a. The Philippines is crowded and yes, there is corruption present in the Philippines, but we cannot change the fact that the number of women giving birth everyday belong to the lower classes and it is because they believe that the more children they have, the more they can have a good life. They don’t see that the more children they add to the family, the more food they will need and that they would have to send their children to school. If those women who are giving birth to plenty of children in the Philippines, then why not. We could ask ourselves many questions like…
b. How many children are being sold every day because their parents cannot give them anything to eat?
c. How many children are dying because they don’t have enough food to eat and clean water to drink?
d. How many children die because instead of going to school, their parents send them to the streets to beg for money?
e. I believe that there is a need for family planning. Education for parents. The RH bill is a choice for the Filipinos.
f. Corruption has been present in the Philippines for the longest time, but I don’t believe that it is the only reason why the Philippines is in poverty.
